Charles Keter

Hon. Charles Keter is responsible for the oversight, policy and governance of the Ministry’s mandate, to facilitate provision of clean, Sustainable, affordable, reliable and secure energy for all.

Prior to his appointment as Cabinet Secretary for Energy in 2015, Mr. Keter served the people of Kericho County as Senator from 2013 – 2015 and as Belgut Member of Parliament from 2003 – 2013. He also worked as the assistant minister for energy and petroleum from 2008 – 2010 and Deputy Majority Leader in the Senate from 2013 – 2015 During his time as Belgut Member of parliament, Belgut constituency was rated best in Constituency Development Fund management in 2012.

His Political career was preceded by nine years of experience in the Telecommunications Sector where he served as Assistant Manager Department of Anti-Fraud management, Telkom (K) Limited with expertise in Information Technology, Systems Analysis and Anti-fraud Hon. Charles Keter holds a Global Executive MBA from the United States International University (USIU) – Africa and a Bachelor’s Degree in Double Math’s from Kenyatta University.
