Dr Dörte Fouquet is a lawyer with more than 30 years of experience, in particular in energy and environmental law. Beginning of 2011 she joined Becker Büttner Held (BBH) law firm as partner. BBH is one of the biggest German energy law firms and specialised overall in advice in areas such as infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, competition, renewable energies and energy system change.
Since 1999 she represents the interests of independent RES power producers and their European organisation EREF asbl in Brussels (www.eref-europe.org).
Since more than 10 years she advises renewable manufacturing industry, in tasks such as sustainability of technologies, due diligence for the planning and permitting procedures, circular economy issues, waste and recycling related counsel, e.g. on WEEE and RoHS as well as on chemical legislation and gives regular advice in the regulatory process.
Within her work as independent lawyer she regularly advises renewable energy companies, finance institutions and governments in their various questions on European energy, environmental, competition and related policies. Thereby, she is specialised in the legal framework conditions for access to the market for renewable energies, especially concerning the different support mechanisms and easing of entrance barriers for Renewable energy production.
